Engineering Development & Test Update

Kurt Holtzen of Western Wildlife Conflict Mitigation LLC and Carolyn Johnson, founder / CEO of GuardUs Innovations

This milestone evaluation was further strengthened with the guidance of Kurt Holtzen of Western Wildlife Conflict Mitigation LLC, who brings over 20 years of experience in multi-species wildlife–livestock conflict mitigation (pictured left with our founder).

The knowledge gained from this initial testing will help guide our ongoing development efforts.

A special thanks to both Kurt and the collaborating rancher for making this fruitful opportunity possible!

Rocky Mountain Wolf Project Collaboration

With deep gratitude, GuardUs Innovations accepts a grant from the Rocky Mountain Wolf Project (RMWP) which solidifies our partnership and will assist our ongoing efforts.

GuardUS and the RMWP share a commitment to advancing next-generation non-lethal predator deterrents - tools that protect both livestock and our natural predators.

This partnership underscores our commitment to cultivate the next generation of innovators and technical leaders. Their work is focused on building foundational tool infrastructure.

And a special thanks to our summer intern, Colin Daugherty, for his significant contributions.

What Exactly are You Doing?

Our initial focus is to develop an autonomous predator detection and deterrent system integrated with a producer-facing dashboard that delivers actionable insights to enhance productivity, efficiency, and animal welfare.

This solution was shaped by the latest scientific research and refined through extensive collaboration with key stakeholders, including producers and wildlife management specialists, ensuring it meets practical, user-centered needs.
